Doesn't it ever stop raining in England? LOL Once again we started off today in pouring rain but again it stopped after a little bit of driving. Our first stop today was Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill. I managed to get a few pictures outside, but I was unable to use my camera inside. I don't understand why these world-famous heritage sites don't allow cameras. It would be so nice to keep a memento of the places and things we've seen. There was so much information to see, not only related to Churchill, but also to Blenheim Castle and the history of the Dukes of Marleborough.
We weren't able to find a pub to have lunch, so we splurged and went to mickey d's!! Then we were off to Burton on the water, via Upper and Lower Slaughter. Yeah I know, strange names they have here, but the roads are really, really neat to drive, although I can't figure out why they have roundabouts (circles) then put traffic lights on them???? There are actually a few like that, strange as it may seem to believe.
Our last stop for the day was at Stratford on Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, where we just had time to go through the house he was born in, before they closed for the day. Tomorrow, we may go back for a look at Anne Hathaway's house and a few others in the area.
There were a lot of beautiful flowers blooming already, I guess the rain does have some uses.
it's getting late. I'm off to bed. More tomorrow.
