NEED I SAY MORE????

This is the view that greeted us this morning when we woke up. It was a surprise to say the least, not the fact that it snowed, the girl at the hotel desk told us yesterday that it was expected, but the fact that we got this much in April! Jan's leg told us a couple of days ago, but we didn't put it together with the weather. We thought it was just the amount of walking she'd been doing.

We had a great train trip to Canterbury, where we found out that we should have actually gone to Whitstable or gotten off at Flaversham as those were closer to our "Canterbury" travelodge hotel than Canterbury was. We booked a hotel at Canterbury, but ended up at a little rest stop about 7 miles away! Now we just have to figure out an easy way to get to the car rental place in Canterbury in the morning, to pick up our rental car.

We had thought by coming down on Sunday, we'd be able to walk around Canterbury, and reserve the other two days of our stay for the area, however, faced with a $70.00 taxi fare each way, we've decided to take a "rest day" and stay put in the room. We have a great choice for entertainment.....the freeway is 50 feet away from the front door, there's a Shell station, and Little Chef restaurant on both sides of the road, although there is no way to get across the freeway, even if we wanted to try a "new" restaurant. LOL

The room is comfortable, actually bigger and nicer than the one we had in London. There are FOUR channels on the TV all with programs we are unfamiliar with. Without transportation we are stuck here. It is a strange feeling, having always had a vehicle at our disposal. The only access to the internet is a "special" provider that deals with Travelodge. I signed up with them for a month, so everywhere we go in England I can get online, so they say! Time will tell.
